Super25 Mid-Atlantic TTW

This year's PG Super 25 Mid-Atlantic Qualifier figures to showcase a multitude of young high school talent, a talent pool that will continue to impress as these players move on in their baseball careers. Among this qualifier are some of the best teams in the northeast region, including multiple Top 1000 players and one Top 500 player for the class of 2022. These are the teams to watch heading into the tournament, which begins today at 5:45 p.m.

Mid-Atlantic Red Sox
The Mid-Atlantic Red Sox come into the Mid-Atlantic Qualifier sporting two players on the PG Top 1000 for the class of 2022 in pitcher Sam Batis and outfielder Cian Sahler. Batis is a top 20 prospect in the state of Maryland, ranked as the third-best righthander in the State. Batis has been clocked with an upper-80s fastball with more room for improvement given his 6-foot-1 frame. An honorable mention for the Preseason Underclass All-American team, Sahler is another top 20 prospect in Maryland. In 104 perfect game at-bats Cian is hitting .289 with four triples, showcasing good foot-speed to go along with his bat. Nathan Bowman is another player to watch; he’s ranked second best out of shortstops in Maryland.

Keystone State Bombers
The Bombers enter the Qualifier with the top-ranked player among all competing teams. Trey Yesavage comes into Vineland labeled as a top 200 pitcher in the country. Yesavage brings a high-80s fastball complemented by a curveball-changeup mix, so expect to see an excellent performance on the mound sometime this weekend. Bomber outfielder Vincent Fattore is a top 10 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania for the class of 2022. Fattore recorded an OPS of .951 during in 43 PG plate appearances in 2018. Nikolas Rubendall is another member of an exceptional Bomber outfield, ranked as the No. 3 outfielder for the 2022 class in the state of Pennsylvania.

Tri-State Arsenal 14u, 2022 National
The Tri-State Arsenal dynasty brings the most ranked players in the tournament between the two competing teams, including 2022 shortstop Pablo Santos. Pablo is the No. 5 shortstop for his class in the baseball hot bed of New Jersey and is hitting .333 over 116 plate appearances with Perfect Game. 2022 catcher David McCann enters competition ranked as the best catcher in the state of Connecticut. McCann has been profiled as an excellent defensive backstop, sporting a sub 2.0-second pop time. Also competing for the Arsenal this weekend is Cole Frye, a 2022 righthanded pitcher and infielder. Frye is hitting over .370 in 131 plate appearances with Perfect Game with an OPS over 1.000.

Keystone Cobras
Keystone brings to the table more than one heralded prospect. 2022 righthander Will McCausland shined in last year’s Mid-Atlantic qualifier, tossing six innings of two-run ball, walking only one while striking out five. McCausland is uber-projectable, standing 5-foot-11 with a very thin frame. Colby Seelig is a 2021 outfielder and righthanded pitcher ranked as a top 50 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania. Seelig is a sturdy 5-foot-11, 200-pounds with strength from the right side of the plate.

Falcons Baseball Showcase 15u
The Falcons bring to the table one of the best overall hitters in the tournament. 2021 first baseman Tywone Malone fills out his 6-foot-4 frame, possessing exceptional power from the right side. Malone is hitting nearly .400 in his Perfect Game career, hitting three homers with 20 RBIs over 54 plate appearances. 2021 righthanded pitcher and outfieler Shane Turpin is another player to watch for the Falcons. Turpin possesses a 6-foot-2 frame with room to fill out and worked in the low-80s in 2018. Turpin has yet to allow a run at Perfect Game events, striking out 14 over 13 2/3 scoreless innings of work.

LSU Reloads & Returns; Opens No. 1

Vincent Cervino

“How do you get to success? You have to honor the process that you built to get to that success…The standard is how we operate, train, and get better each day.”” Process-oriented leadership is a popular coaching strategy here in the mid-2020s but no one exemplifies that more than LSU head coach Jay Johnson. He’s won the Tigers two national titles during his time in Baton Rouge and expectations won’t be any lower in 2026 as LSU is the No. 1 team in the country in Perfect Game’s Preseason Top 25.  Johnson is heading into his fifth season at the helm in Baton Rouge and it’s fair to say that he has already experienced enormous success. There have been two national titles in four years (2023, 2025), a Golden Spikes winner (Dylan Crews, 2023), a first overall MLB Draft pick (Paul Skenes, 2023), and five first-round MLB Draft picks during...

With an interesting and action-packed fall behind us, a new college season is just around the corner. The college game continues to prove it is alive and well as the Division 1 team count has now ballooned to 308 teams for the 2026 season. With new legislation allowing teams 5-weeks to prepare for opening day, many student athletes have returned to campus and will begin skill related workouts soon. Opening Day, as usual, will fall on Valentine’s Day weekend and it is just six weeks away. After a fall of evaluation and months of research and discussion, we are ready to release our annual Perfect Game pre-season Top 25 poll. After winning 53-games, hosting the NCAA Regional and Super Region, and sweeping their way through the College World, the LSU Tigers will debut the 2026 season as our No.1 ranked team. The transfer portal, JUCO gems, 6th year waivers and impact freshman; following the college game and figuring out rosters is basically a fulltime job nowadays. It looks like 2026 is shaping up to be an incredible season with the balance of power seemingly spread out evenly from coast to coast. Like we seem to say every year, the depth and quality of talent has never been better, and the 2026 Perfect Game Pre-Season All-American teams will attest to that fact. With the 2026 College Baseball season is just around the corner, the Perfect Game college staff will have you loaded with coverage heading into the new year. On the heels of our Pre-Season Top 25 poll, the All-American list will be headlined by a banner sophomore class on the 1st team. The sweet lefthanded swings of...

At 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, Boesen looks the part of a middle of the order type slugger and he's just that, showing lots of looseness and bat speed in his left-handed stroke and is coming off a Jupiter where he hit .700 (!!) as an underclassman while driving in 10 runs. The bat-to-ball skills are obvious as he simply hit at all the big stops in 2025,...

MLB Mock Draft: January 9

Tyler Henninger
Article Image
As we turn the calendar to 2026, we move one step closer to draft day. With the lottery behind us and the order now set, we wanted to take one final stab at a preseason mock draft before players take the field. The talent at the top of this class stands out and feels as deep as it has been in quite some time. There is solid depth in the first round, with real value extending later into the round. While things are certain to shift once the season gets underway, this is how we see things going for now.  1.  Chicago White Sox: Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA The White Sox come away with one of the most polished profiles in the class and one of the better draft prospects we’ve seen in a while. Cholowsky gives Chicago a high-level college shortstop with a refined offensive approach, quality in-game power, and advanced defensive actions. There’s a strong blend of floor and...
