16u BCS Scout Notes: Day 1

Power Baseball 2022 opened up the 16u BCS on the right foot with a 12-0 final score and the offensive charge was led by Florida commit Landon Moran (2022, Altamonte Springs, Fla.). The sweet-swinging lefthander impressed earlier this week in Hoover at the Junior National and picked up right where he left off with two hits in two official at-bats with a double that was launched off the pull side fence and another single he drove into right centerfield. Moran is a wiry athlete with a projectable build and already uses his levers well to leverage the ball and create natural loft to the plane. The raw bat speed is impressive too and it’s not hard to envision the power coming in a big way as he continues to fill out. Moran is an accomplished two-way prospect as well as he can run it up on the mound, but in the  opening game he was a big piece of a potent lineup.
