HOOVER, Ala. – In a game that they never trailed, USA Prime Mountain National defeated eXposure 14U Prime-Knoxville by a score of 10-0 in the National Championship game of 14U WWBA. Both teams entered the championship with 10 wins and featured some of the top talent on a national scale on each of their rosters.

USA Prime jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning and did not look back from there. Scoring three runs in the first and crooked numbers in four of the seven innings, USA Prime made it an offensive slugfest in the title game.

Started by Derek Curiel to leadoff the game with a single and later score the game’s first run, USA Prime did not look back. He finished with three runs in the contest and was the table setter for a trio of big run innings. Miles Ghossein got the start on the bump pitching a scoreless 3 2/3 innings before being relieved by Parker Brzustewicz who was masterful in the final 3 1/3 innings.

Ghoessein also doubled in a run to help himself out on the mound in the top of the second. Curiel, Dante Nori and Eric Jeon each had multi-hit games for USA Prime while Ghossein, Brzustewics, Nori, Matthew Champion, and Jack Frankel each had RBI in the contest.

The MVP of the tournament belonged to Brennon Seigler, an outfielder from eXposure 14U Prime-Knoxville, who was on fire from day one to day eight. He finished the tournament batting .500 that included a homerun with 16 runs scored and 12 RBI.

The MVPitcher of 14U WWBA was Coleman Mayfield of USA Prime Mountain National. Mayfield pitched in a pair of games including tossing a no hitter in the semifinals. Mayfield’s final line on the eight day event was pretty unreal. He tossed 9 1/3 total innings striking out 19 hitters and allowing just one hit and two walks over those two games.
