Chet Lemon's Juice 14u Wins Perfect Game Florida World Series

SANFORD, Fla. - Chet Lemon’s Juice 14u came back from an early loss in pool play to Ballers Baseball to own the competition and claim the 2021 PG 14u Florida World Series Championship, besting the same Ballers Baseball in the championship, 5-3. A combination of timely pitching and hitting carried Juice through the tournament. 
 
The semifinal was a pitching duel and a nail-biter. On the shoulders of pitcher Couper Gatch, who went 6 2/3 innings striking out five hitters, Chet Lemon's Juice kept Team Orlando’s strong offense from scoring, scraping by with a 1-0 win. Tyler Whitworth stole home in the top of the fifth inning, and that's all the team needed. Gatch was given MV-Pitcher honors for his work on the mound.



Gatch's fastball was up to 80 mph in the contest and he only allowed four hits. Hayden Montanez had a great semifinal at the dish, going 2-for-3 with a double.
 
Chet Lemon’s Juice got the revenge they were looking for in the championship game, as they held Ballers to three runs behind the pitching of Lincoln Gagne, who went 5 2/3 innings. Gagne's fastball touched 80 mph with a curveball at 64 mph, as he allowed one run on four hits, striking out two batters.

The defense was working well behind the Juice pitching staff, as they made no errors behind any of the pitchers. The offense was led by Whitworth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 on the day with two RBI. Julien Radcliffe added a two-RBI single with a line drive up the middle in the seventh inning to give his team some insurance runs. Finally, Angel Agosto went 1-for-1 with a big RBI double, then came around to score in the fourth to give the Juice the first lead.
 
Ballers Baseball had a perfect record going into the championship game. Seth Patterson had a strong start in the title tilt, going five innings allowing two runs on two hits, striking out six batters with his 85 mph fastball. The offense was carried by Malakhi Boone, who had an impressive 2-for-4 game with two solo home runs.

Boone was named the MVP of the tournament for his performance, as he hit .400 overall with five home runs and seven RBI.



2021 Perfect Game 14u Florida World Series Scout Notes

Malakhi Boone (2025, Webster, Fla.) had an impressive weekend, even for the top-rated hitter in the tournament. He notched six hits, and five of those were home runs, adding up to seven RBI. In the box he has a wide base and very relaxed hands. The bat speed and swing path lead to some scary power.
 
Justis Meadows (2025, Tampa, Fla.) slashed .389 on the weekend with seven hits. Out of those, two of them were doubles and two of them were triples. He drove in six runs and scored five more times. The righty stands tall, has good rhythm, and uses his long limbs to get extension and lift on the ball. 
 
Daniel Hernandez (2024, Lakeland, Fla.) has a combination of speed and a great eye that led the lead off man to a great weekend. He scored the most runs in the tournament, scoring eight times. He got on base and made defenses pay, walking seven times and stealing seven bases. He added five hits, slashing .357 on the weekend. 
 
Logan Inman (2025, Orlando, Fla.) showed great raw power, hitting some gaps this weekend with an average of .727. He was tied for the lead in hits with eight, three of them being doubles, driving in six runners. With a big frame the swing has a slight leg lift and is rotational with a tight turn to deliver the bat head. 
 
Hayden Montanez (2025, Winter Park, Fla.) was also tied with eight hits being the most in the tournament. He added one double and one triple, driving in seven runners. Also had an impressive five walks, hitting .500 on the weekend. The righty has a big leg kick and quick hands, showing great barrel-to-ball skills. 
 
Jordan Marlo (2025, Cross City, Fla.) had a .400 average for the tournament, and he just plays the game hard. He had six hits with three doubles, scoring six times himself. On the basepaths he shows his speed, stealing three bases. The lefty has a nice leg kick for timing and really showed the ability to go with some pitches the other way, or turn on them with some power. All the contact is loud.
 
Braeden Seculer (2025, Plantation, Fla.) has the ability to hit for average and for power and showed that this tournament, hitting .571 with two doubles and a triple. He drove in six runs and scored five times. The big righty has a very easy swing, he starts with a small load and has a nice rotational swing with good extension through the ball. 
 
Couper Gatch (2025, Eustis, Fla.) had a great weekend with the most RBI in the tournament, with nine. He notched five hits with one triple and a home run. Big-time hitting in important situations. The righty has room to fill out and his swing starts with a big leg kick and low hands. He gets his money's worth with every swing. On the mound he added eight innings, striking out eight with a fastball up to 80 mph. 
 
Nicolas Partridge (2025, Lakeland, Fla.) had a great weekend on the mound and at the plate. He pitched a complete-game seven innings giving up zero runs, striking out seven batters. At the plate the lefty has a sweet, smooth swing. He got on base a lot, walking six times, and also scored six times himself. 
 
Seth Patterson (2024, Lakeland, Fla.) had the top velocity in the tournament with a fastball that touched 85 mph. He started the championship game, going five strong innings and striking out six batters. He has a quick arm with a short arm swing, working the glove side of the plate with a breaking ball that was consistently at 64 mph.

Southeast Memorial Day East Cobb Baseball will welcome more than 100 teams spanning the 13-17u age groups this weekend as summer baseball gets underway with the highly anticipated PG Southeast Memorial Day Classic, commencing on Thursday, May 21st. Coaches must strategically map out their pitching to ensure they can get through Pool Play while also making sure they have arms to make a deep playoff run. May 19th Perfect Game/Co-Players of the Week:  Carson Tinney, C, Texas  The Texas Longhorns just finished off another stellar regular season and are heading to Hoover for the SEC Conference Tournament as the No. 2 Seed this week.  To secure their 2nd place finish, they had to sweep Missouri at home last weekend and did so in large part to the power bat of Carson Tinney.  The 6-4/240 catcher from Castle Pines, CO transferred to Austin after two sensational seasons at Notre Dame and has thrived in his draft year.  In the 3-game set, Tinney collected 7 hits in 13 at-bats, scoring 5 runs, with a double, 3 home runs and he drove in 10 runs all told.  With some of the most prodigious power in the college game this year, Tinney is now slashing .321/.695/.473 with 10 doubles an incredible 20 home runs and 54 RBIs while playing in the most spacious ballpark in the...
