Spring Spectacular Scout Notes

14u Division

Hayden Bush (2027, Columbia, Mo.) from Select Fastpitch 14U Bush is a confident, reliable and consistent pitcher. She was able to control the game with three pitches; a fastball, slider and changeup, ranging from 56-58 mph and the slider in at 45 mph. This control came from her consistency of hitting her spots and keeping batters on their toes. Bush is a player that her team is lucky to have, not only taking care of business in the circle, her bat was hot all weekend. Her batting average on the weekend was .363, that includes her home run on top of multiple runs and RBI scored. She is sure to get better and better as she grows and develops as a player, and she has attributes to thrive in a college environment.

Elise Dickneite (2026, Jefferson, Mo.) from Select Fastpitch 14U Bush had a weekend at the plate. She is calm with an intimidating plate presence for anyone on defense. Her batting average was .357 throughout six games. She has a level bat path straight to the ball. She is someone a coach can throw in the lineup and know that she is going to make an impact regardless of where is at.



Alayna Vaeth (2026, Gardner, Kan.) from Select Fastpitch 13U is a right-handed pitcher who is a valuable addition to her pitching staff. She is 5-foot-8 and was hitting a range of 54-56 mph, offering a wide variety of pitches throwing a rise, drop, screw, change, fastball and a curve. She is going to keep any opponent on their toes.

Makayla McConnell (2026, Belton, Mo.) from Select Fastpitch 13U is a well-rounded utility player, as she can play outfield and infield and make a play at any position. She is a player who is hard for a pitcher to throw to, one mistake and Makalya is taking the ball clear over center field fence, which is exactly what she did this weekend, as she had a perfect bat path, engaged her hips and hit the center ball, and it was gone at the crack of the bat.

Avery Green (2027, Elkhorn, Neb.) from Nebraska Thunder Dillon is a middle infielder who is a valuable addition to her team for her reliable glove in the field, but also her incredible bat. She went .611 throughout six games. Her bat for a 14-year-old is unlike a lot of the competition at her age. Green had 4 home runs, 3 doubles and a triple and drove in countless runs. With this bat and her glove, Green has a great chance of thriving on a D-I team.

Emerson Becker (2025, Nebraska City, Neb.) from Nebraska Thunder Dillon is a right-handed pitcher, first baseman and third baseman, who is a valuable addition to not only her pitching staff but overall to her team. She is 5-foot-9 and was hitting a range of 50-55 mph with a curveball at 50 mph that complemented her fastball. She took care of business in the circle and at the plate, as she went .667 throughout 7 games.

Bailee Rabourn (2026, Peculiar, Mo.) from KC Athletics is a right-handed pitcher with a fastball, drop and an impressive changeup that comes in at 45 mph, although she is consistently pitching 50-53 mph. Her batting and plate presence also caught my eye because of how truly hard Rabourn hits the ball. She is always making solid middle-of-the-ball contact, engaging her hips and driving the ball hard no matter where the pitch is located. She is fun to watch and would be a great addition to a college team.

16u Division

Having gone 4-0 in their pool, Select Fastpitch 14U outscored their opponents 40-14, led by a solid pitching staff and ruthless offensive hammer. Jenna Edwards (2025, Carrollton, Mo.), a 5-foot-7 RHP for Select Fastpitch 14U, was named MV-Pitcher for her elite performance in the circle. In 10 innings, Edwards allowed only two walks, earning herself a 1.00 WHIP for the weekend. Edwards worked consistently at a sparky 56-58 mph velocity, utilizing a cutting curveball that sits right on the corner. She also had a standout presence at the plate, helping herself out with a .583 batting average, going 7-for-12. Edwards assisted in seven runs earned for Select Fastpitch 14U.

Among Select Fastpitch 14U’s pitching staff is Solana Carpenter (2025, Belton, Mo.), a 5-foot-4 RHP with a simple wind up and explosive lower hand. In 17 innings, she collected 23 strikeouts, collecting at least one per inning for a total WHIP of 1.59. Mia Kliethermes (2025, Freeburg, Mo.) is also one of Select Fastpitch 14U’s hurlers. This 5-foot-11 RHP brings the gas with a consistent 61 mph velocity. Kliethermes creates great spins, including a jumping rise that hits the ceiling of the zone. More impressive is her nasty flip change that floats in at 42 mph, for ridiculous swing-and-miss action. Her four-plus pitch variation helped her in six innings to sit down 12 batters, for a 0.67 WHIP. She was just as active at the plate, going 10-for-14, a .714 batting average. Her performance included eight singles, two doubles, two runs, and 13 RBI. A huge future for this elite two-way player with a variety of pitches at her disposal that will continue to keep her on top.  

Malia Cabuyaban (2025, Kansas City, Mo.) was named MV-Player for the 16U division Spring Spectacular for her incredible performance at the plate. This 5-foot-8 slugger has a quick cut with a long extension, finding the middle of the ball, then finishing with a slight lift that produces plus pop for power. Cabuyaban can put the ball to all areas of the field, assisting her in collecting a .444 batting average, crossing the pay station six times, and knocking in an additional 10 runs for Select Fastpitch 14U. Among her stats was five singles, one double, and two dynamite home runs to the left side of the field.

Select Fastpitch 15U Morris had a great start to the weekend, going 4-0 for an undefeated pool play start, outscoring their opponents 42-13. Keeping the defense tight was Addie Morris (2025, Columbia, Mo.), a 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher. Morris threw a stunning 11 innings, shutting down 21 batters, for almost two strikeouts an inning.  Her teammate keeping Select Fastpitch 15U Morris’s offense moving is Ava Bush (2026, Columbia, Mo.), a solid lefty hitter. Bush has an elite cut with a level bat path and clean connection through the zone. She presents a great weight shift and strong lower half, creating plus pop, sending the ball to the fence on a hard ground ball to the gap. She spreads the field, often finding that 3-4 gap. This versatility helped her in 11-of-15 at-bats, including three singles, six doubles, one triple, and one home run. Bush crossed the plate eight times, assisting in an additional 14 runs.  

KC Zephyrs Harsh made it to the semifinals this past weekend, led offensively by Abby Sisk (2025, Holden, Mo.). This RHP and corner infielder had a great weekend hitting. Sisk often sends the ball back where it came from. She has a narrower stance and strong hip rotation, generating lower half power. Sisk has a disciplined approach, knowing which pitch to jump on, going 9-for-18 at the plate, with six singles, two doubles, and an over-the-fence home run.

Athletics Jendro is a fantastic organization, often participating in PG events. Both Athletics Jendro Russell and Athletics Jendro/Doctor played this weekend, highlighting some of their best athletes. Mandy Brown (2023, Grain Valley, Mo.) is a 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher who hurls in 56-59 mph velocity, capitalizing on her best pitch, a lively rise. Brown also has an exceptional changeup with significant off-speed. With this pitch repertoire, Brown collected 12 strikeouts in 10 innings for a 1.88 WHIP. Helping in the cause is slugger Ella Herndon (2025, Kearney, Mo.), a 4-foot-11 freshman infielder. Hernon had a great time in the box, collecting nine hits in 13 at-bats for a .692 average. Her scrappy approach helped her with five singles, four doubles, crossing the plate three times, and hitting in five runs.  

Hannah Burks (2024, Springfield, Mo.) is a right-handed sophomore pitcher for Atheltics Jendro/Doctor. Burks is consistently pumping in 60-61 mph spins. With a combination of spin and movement, Burks sat down 15 batters in nine innings, with a 1.76 WHIP. Burks is a deceptive pitcher with a sharp screwball that cuts in right at the hands of a right-handed batter, jamming them frequently. She also has a late-breaking rise ball that keeps batters guessing.

Another standout pitcher this weekend putting in the work is Adeline Fliege (2024, Omaha, Neb.), a RHP for Primetime 05. Primetime 05 went 3-0-1 during pool play, outscoring their opponents 37-19. Fliege led the way in the circle with 19 innings, collecting a tournament high of 24 strikeouts with a 1.11 WHIP.

Primetime 05 teammate Ella Watts (2023, Omaha, Neb.) made things happen at the plate, making contact in almost every at-bat. Watts spreads the field with hard-hit balls, having a .471 average. She led the way with 11 RBI, crossing the plate eight times herself. Her stats include three singles, three doubles, and two home runs.  

Katelyn Jarzobski (2024, Omaha, Neb.), a hitter for NE Gold Jarzobski, had a brilliant execution offensively with a .533 batting average. Jarzobski smacked out four singles, two doubles, one triple, and one home run. She crossed the pay station five times, assisting in four additional RBI. Teammate Addyson Hobza (2024, Fort Collins, Colo.) had just as much success on the weekend with a .583 average., knocking out five singles, one double, one triple, three runs, and four RBI. More impressive is her speed, assisting her in four stolen bases.
