TJ Pompey (2023, Coppell, Texas) impressed in all facets Monday morning. The shortstop reached base all three plate appearances, collecting a walk and two hits, both if which came on curveballs. Pompey showed the ability to read spin and displayed hitterish traits, lagging his hands to adjust and drive it the other way for a single in his first at-bat. He would follow up his next at-bat, stroking a loud double to left and hustling in to second for a double. Pompey carries himself with a quiet confidence and stands at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds that will fill out with room for plenty more added strength. The Texas Tech commit made all of the plays at short. He made the routine plays, threw on the run with ease, and made smooth double play turns with plenty of arm strength.
