FL Summer Select Crowns Champions

15U Florida Summer Select 

FORT Myers, FLA - TBT AS4’s offense led the way in their run to the championship in 15U . 



Heading into the final averaging over eight runs per game on the weekend, the TBT bats stayed hot to the tune of a 7-5 victory over War 15U. 

Despite striking first, TBT would need to climb back after War brought four across in the bottom half of the second - including a two-out RBI single from Ben Bates. 

But it wouldn’t take long for that offense to respond, notching four of their own in the top of the third to take a 5-4 lead nearing the midway point. 

Right-handed pitcher Cade Raley came in for relief over the final four innings and kept the War bats in check - striking out six and allowing just one run. 

TBT added two more insurance runs in the sixth with Matthew Spina and Luccas Mendez rounding the bases, which proved to be just enough for the title. 

The victory closed out a 5-1 weekend for TBT, including three straight victories over the final two days. 

16U Florida Summer Select 

The 16U division crowned co-champions between Freshwater Storm 16U American and R3 2025 due to inclement weather. 

After both clubs punched their tickets following dominant performances in the semifinals, the championship looked to be a battle of the unbeaten. 

Heading into the game, Freshwater posted a 5-0-1 mark on the weekend, including three shutout victories and a 8-3 win over Hitlab 16U heading in.

While R3's championship run included a 10-3 semifinal victory over South Florida Riot  and posting over eight runs per contest. 

Both offenses stayed hot in the final before the game was called, with Jace Gelinas, James Pitts, Turner Gross and Merric Hunt each picking up RBIs. 

17U Florida Summer Select 

Co-champions were also crowned in the 17U division between R3 2024 and Team Veneno due to inclement weather. 

R3 made it to this final following a weekend of nail-biter victories, with all four of their wins decided by one run - including a 3-3 tie in pool play against Crush LBA.

While Veneno needed just one score to advance to the championship following its 1-0 victory over Wolverines Baseball in the semifinal. 

The game only reached the top of the second before being called due to lightning, but had no shortage of action leading up - including RBI doubles from Wil Gregory and Brayden Allison, along with an RBI single from Robby Fredericks. 

18U Florida Summer Select 

A long lightning delay was not going to stop 3n2 Sticks Baseball 18U National from playing their final outing together. 

“Everyone wanted to stay,” Dylan Lapointe said. “We knew what the outcome would be if we all wanted to stay. We all wanted to stick our minds to it and play baseball.

“You sit in the car and you're looking at the timer, seeing when it's gonna go, and then later you look and it's three hours later and you're like, ‘oh, man…’ And then the coach texts us ‘do y'all want to leave?’ and we said ‘no, we all want to play.’

And play baseball they did once the game got back underway, dominating en route to a 12-0 run-rule victory over Soflo Lime. 

Emilio Gonzalez drove in the first runs of the game with an RBI single following a Jake Richardson double in the previous at-bat. 

Following two runs coming across in the first, the Sticks one-upped themselves with a five-run display the very next frame - including RBI singles from Lapoint and Jace Cleveland, along with a triple from Joseph Flores. 

Needing seven runs to reach the run-rule limit, the Sticks did exactly that in the third, with two-run doubles from Anthony Ruocco and Richardson leading the way. 

Right-handed pitcher Caleb Ricardo led the way on the mound for Sticks following the delay, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. 

And while they could’ve packed it up and crowned co-champions during the delay, the Sticks knew they wanted to end the summer and time together with a title. 

“It's easier than just going to co-champions,” Lapointe said. “We went ahead and won it, stuck it out, who had the guts to want to win? And that just showed that we did.”

He’s a pretty dynamic athlete who can do a lot of things well, but the bat is the calling card as he just lives on the barrel and has no problem handling all kinds of pitching. The Mid-Atlantic Region lost its only Perfect Game All-American when catcher Andrew Costello left his Pennsylvania high school early and enrolled at Wake Forest for the spring semester.  The Region ends up being dominated by underclassmen, with seven juniors and even a pair of talented sophomores getting recognition. The story of the spring could very well be watching the young power arms in the Region come outdoors and show their talents on the mound.  Pennsylvania juniors Cole Kuhn and Trent Lutz have been getting lots of off-season attention along with New Jersey senior Alex Weingartner. COASTAL REGION (NC, SC, VA, WV)  The first thing that stands out about the players on the Coastal Region team is that this is undoubtedly the fastest All-Region Team in the country.  There are four or five players who could legitimately have 80 grades on their running speed from the region and all have other tools to back up their speed. Another thing that jumps out is the quality of the juniors on the team.  While the region features only one 2025 PG All-American in left-handed pitcher Carson Bolemon, there are six juniors on the All-Region team who are ranked in the top 34 in the 2027 class, with plenty more talented underclassmen just behind them.  Three region high schools break into the Top 50 in the Perfect Game Pre-Season High School Rankings.  Charlotte Catholic at 33rd overall and Metrolina Christian Academy at 42nd represent the North Carolina schools...

2026 College Preview Index With the D-I season opening up right around the corner, our staff came together and took a shot at who they'd pick within 7 different categories. Most are self explanatory while the "Sleeping GIant" category is in reference to a draft prospect outside of our latest Top 50 on the MLB Draft Board. SOUTHWEST REGION (AZ, NM, NV, UT, CO)  The most dominant tool in the Southwest Region for the 2026 season is undoubtedly power at the plate, as most players featured below not only have the size and bat speed to drive the ball but have put up the numbers as well.  While that isn’t exactly surprising given that virtually the entire region plays at elevation, it certainly stands out on the individual top prospects.
