We caught up recently with University of Arizona commit Caleb Danzeisen and he reflects on how baseball affects his life and how he looks ahead going into his senior year.

Danzeisen is one of Arizona’s top prospects, ranked No.4 overall, and he's the top catching prospect in the state. Going Nation wide, he’s ranked No.129 overall and the No. 9 best catcher. Growing up with a lot of spotlight, Danzeisen is one of the hardworking players who understands the amount of weight on young athlete's shoulders and what's needed to triumph.

“I don’t really think about it. I just think, play the game, I don’t really look in the stands and see anyone there. I just kind of play my own game and you don’t need to realize that the pressure is too high for you. You just have to stay composed to your level. Just play your game, and you’ll obviously succeed.”

Playing baseball ever since he was a kid, he holds a lot of love for the game and those who play alongside him. As a current varsity player at Valley Christian High School, Danzeisen sees the importance on making strong connections with his friends and those who look to him for guidance.

“Some of my bigger goals are to grow in the relationship with my teammates. Most of all, I want to leave a better path for my high school. But, I just want to be a bigger leader in general, since a lot of people look up to me. Some goals I want to hit are mostly just to get scouted the most, but just to leave a better legacy for my high school team.”

While his high school team means a lot to him, Danzeisen also owes a lot to Perfect Game being a huge part in growing as a player and home to some of his best career moments from the 35 different events he’s taken part in since 2018.

“Perfect Game has been a blessing to me. Honestly. It helps me grow in every single way, and get my reps in when I need it. Some of my biggest accomplishments are in high school, but a lot are also Perfect Game ones. Most of them are winning championships, winning is my biggest mentality.”

Thanks to high school ball and Perfect Game, Denzeisen will complete his senior year and head over to Arizona to compete as a Wildcat, a very known and successful baseball program. After falling in love with the area, Danzeisen felt this decision was the right one for him and his athletic career.

“University of Arizona stood out…mostly the staff and the loving community there. I’ve always kind of wanted to be a Wildcat. It was a big decision for me…it felt like home honestly. When I went there, toured, and everything, it just felt right. I love the coaching staff there, Chip Hale is one of my best friends, I would say, and it’s a loving community.”
