Head Coach Dave Van Horn is now entering his 23rd season at Arkansas where he already holds a HOF coaching resume with his over 1,400 wins, three SEC titles and seven College World Series appearances. His teams consistently win year in and year out due in large part to the elite HS recruiting classes he puts together and it looks he has another talented one with these 2025s.

On the position player side, they have a very impressive infield group coming in with Landon Schaefer (#54), Carson Brumbaugh (#61) and Alexander Peck (#138). Schaefer looks the part at shortstop with his size, athleticism and defensive actions while also being a power threat at the plate where he’s performed in front of our scouting staff at almost every big time event. Brumbaugh caught our eye at the TCU Elite Eight tourney this ‘24 summer where he was a hit machine showing impressive feel for the barrel combined with easy bat speed and impact. The actions are athletic at short, and he flashes plus arm strength. Peck is the biggest of the three where his size and strength have translated to some serious present power with likely more to come.

Jordan Martin (#59) leads their pitching commitments as the PG All American has an ultra-projectable 6-foot-5 frame and a pitch mix that includes a fastball he runs up to 95, a sweeping slider in the upper 70s and a quality changeup. Peyton Lee (#133) is their next highest ranked arm where his projection also stands out at 6-foot-5, 185 pounds. He’s shown a low 90s fastball (T94) and standout feel for an upper 70s swing/miss slider that’s got some sharp and late depth to it. Joey Lorenzini (#183) was one of the bigger uncommitted targets of the summer where he grabbed the attention of several programs, but the Razorbacks won that recruitment battle. He’s another 6-foot-5 arm but he operates from the left side where he has displayed a low 90s fastball with which he fills up the zone consistently and two legit secondaries he gets whiffs with. They also landed McLane Moody (#204) who has one of the highest ceilings in the class. He’s up to 96 right now and it looks like he'll throw 100 soon due to his outlier 6-foot-7 size and well above average athleticism.

Even when you look more towards the bottom of this class they have some serious talent whether it’s Jaison Delamar (#210) who is a physical and athletic outfielder that has shown legit juice at the plate or Tye Briscoe (#214) who is another low 90s left-handed arm with pitchability. Mark Brissey (#219), Jack Schwab (#243) and Grant Wren (#258) are also big time arms of note.

Van Horn, alongside Nate Thompson, Matt Hobbs and Bobby Wernes who are all returning coaches, have done an outstanding job with this class in both dominating the in-state talent and finding high upside players outside of Arkansas. All reports our scouting staff have gotten this fall point to a strong ‘25 season for the Razorbacks who haven’t won less than 42 games in a full season since 2016.
