15u BCS National Championship (Days 1-3)

The 15u BCS National Championship is in full swing with a plethora of games taking place all over Fort Myers, Florida. A number of the top ranked players from the 2020 and 2021 classes are taking part in this tournament, providing strong competition.

Sticks Baseball Academy 2021 Elite featured a number of solid prospects in an early morning win over TSD Elite. Working five shutout innings for Sticks was Nicholas Griffin (2020, Monticello, Ark.) The lefthander touched 89 mph with an electric fastball that played well up in the zone. Griffin sprinkled in an 11-to-5 curveball with depth and tight spin. The pitch consistently sat 75 mph and about two-thirds of the breaking balls he threw were quality pitches. Griffin is an Arkansas commit and swings the bat well, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. He is the No. 1-ranked outfielder in the state of Arkansas and is equally impressive on the mound.

Offensively, Sticks had a few standouts. Leadoff hitter Dawson Chester (2021, Pocahontas, Ark.) flashed a compact swing, ripping an RBI single to left field. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound infielder saw time at shortstop and has good technique at the position. Chester’s footwork was solid, putting his body in a good fielding position on routine grounders and plays on the backhand. He showed plus arm strength on a backhand play in the hole, getting the runner at first with a strong throw to the first baseman’s chest.

Center fielder Braylon Bishop (2021, Ashtown, Ark.) hit behind Chester in the lineup. An athletic, 6-foot 175-pounder with a slightly opened stance, he has the makings of a solid hitter. His hands are held at shoulder height and creates pre-pitch rhythm with them. Bishop has plate discipline with a keen eye of the strike zone. The Arkansas commit stayed inside the ball well, driving a double to left-center field and ran a 4.4 on a turn.

Throwing 2 1/3 innings of relief for Baseball University, Christian Hamilton (2021, Tampa, Fla.) held a deep and impressive Team Elite 15u Prime lineup in check. The 6-foot righthander has a ton of projection at just 140-pounds. He pumped out a 79-81 mph fastball and will see a big jump in velocity once he gains weight. Hamilton has a paced delivery and throws from a three-quarters arm slot that generates tailing action on his fastball.

Flame-thrower Alex Edmondson (2020, Simpsonville, S.C.) lit up the radar gun with a power fastball reaching 90 mph. His comfort zone with the pitch was 86-89 mph and gets nice run on the fastball. Edmondson has strength in his lower half and is athletically built with long arms. Committed to Clemson, Edmondson mixes in a slider at 75-80 mph with 11-to-5 action.  In five innings, he gave up just three hits, walked one and had 10 strikeouts.

LSU recruit Luke Leto (2021, Portage, Mich.) had a big offensive performance, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored. A lefthanded hitter, Leto stands tall in the box with his hands held at a higher position. Using a two-hand finish and a compact swing, Leto does a great job staying inside the baseball and driving pitches back up the middle. He moves well and is a solid base runner, taking an extra base with good jumps and reads on the basepaths.

Matching Leto with three hits, Brady House (2021, Winder, Ga.) The Georgia native is committed to Tennessee and performed well in the two-hole of the lineup. House drove in two runs and scored the same amount. He ripped a double down the left field line later in the game that scored Leto. House has wiry strength in his shoulders and arms and has an explosive bat through the hitting zone. His line drive approach fits nicely as he consistently looks to hit the ball with authority up the middle. The third baseman makes loud contact at the plate.

Driving in two runs, Kenneth Mallory, Jr. (2021, Lawerenceville, Ga.) doubled to center field in the fourth inning. A line drive hitter with comfortable bat movement pre-pitch, Mallory Jr has a patient approach but looks to do damage when he sees a pitch he likes. He stays on the ball well with his swing and continues the trend of Team Elite hitters with an up the middle, line drive approach.

 The first round of pool has finished up and the Florida Rebels collected another win with the help of their lead-off hitter Michael Doyle. Doyle is a 5-foot-10 150-pound 2021 graduate from Pinellas Park, Fla. who can really handle the stick. He handles the leadoff spot well with a high contact approach. He drove in a run and scored twice in the Rebels 11-10 victory. He shows some quick hands to contact and some potential to develop drive off the bat.

Kyle Upman, who threw three innings for the Rebels, was also good early in his outing. Upman, a 2021 graduate from Sarasota, Fla., has a smaller frame but room to add strength, which should keep the velocity ticking up. Upman gets his fastball up to 81 mph as it is. He utilizes an up-tempo delivery. His arm action is quick while releasing from an extended three-quarters arm slot which works well. Upman shows some downhill plane through the zone and consistently hits the bottom of the zone. There is some potential in his secondary changeup with some running action.

Power Baseball 2021 took a tough 4-1 loss on the second day of the tournament, which brings their record to 2-1. Roric Maday started for the Power and gave them a solid outing going 4 2/3 innings. Maday, a 2021 graduate who stands at 5-foot-11 and 155-pounds from Winter Garden, Fla., has a lean but projectable frame on the mound. The lefty works quickly and throws a good amount of strikes. His arm action is clean and works well throughout delivery. His biggest asset is how well he hides the ball and can repeat the arm action on a changeup as well as a short breaking ball.

It wasn’t a great day for US Elite 15u Florida as they suffered a 6-10 loss to push them to 1-2 in the tournament. Ayden Edwards was a bright spot for US Elite going 3-for-4 on the day. Ayden is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound 2021 graduate from Graham, N.C. He is among the top-ranked catchers in his class and he showed it with the bat in the game. He really looks to get some leverage out front and drive the ball in the air with strong gap-to-gap power. He shows a quick bat through the zone and should continue to develop upon his hit tools.

Team Elite 15u Futures is a tough team to beat in the tournament and they made that clear in a 4-1 victory and that had a lot to do with the day Michael Massey had on the mound. Massey is a 6-foot-3, 155-pound righty from Buford, Ga., who graduates in 2021. He was able to pitch the full seven-inning game allowing just a single hit and an unearned run. He struck out seven batters and walked just a single guy. Massey has a tall and slender frame with a lot of projectability on the mound. He has a quick and easy arm action with the balling coming out cleanly. His unorthodox windup keeps hitters off balance and he fills the zone with good fastball topping out at 81 mph. He also tosses a tight, short slider with a cutter look to it.

Five Star National Black is one of the favorites in the tournament and they had a decisive 9-1 victory to move to 3-0 in the first round. They are stacked throughout the lineup and several of their middle-of-the-order guys really stood out.

Wyatt Campbell was the first big bat that really shined in the game. Campbell, a 2021 graduate who stands at 6-foot-3 and 190-pounds, is really advanced with the bat. He utilizes the lower half well with linear shift into contact. He generates some barrel turn through extension and is able to put some backspin on the ball with consistent and hard contact.

The other star of the game was Jackson Baumeister. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound 2021 graduate from Jacksonville, Fla., has committed to play at Florida State University. Baumeister is another toolsy player at the plate who has present strength in his swing. He generates a lot of bat speed and is quick to the ball with a naturally lifted barrel plane. He keeps his swing simple and makes tons of good contact.




TSD Elite grabbed a big win against 5 Star National Gold with a run in the bottom of the seventh to win 2-1. Melvin Reyes (2020 Caguas, Puerto Rico) really kept his team in a spot to win as he only allowed one run in his six innings of work. Reyes has an easy effort delivery with a clean arm action. He’s able to work the corners well with a fastball with some running action that topped out at 83 mph. His lower three-quarters slot allows him to get some two-plane actions on a sharp curveball that got some swing-and-miss.




The Molina Stars moved to 4-1 in the tournament with 4-1 victory in pool play. Big lefty starter Dean Kampschror (2021 Falls Church, Va.) started the game and went two solid innings and paved the way for the victory. Kampschror stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 180-pounds, so he already has a projectable pitcher’s frame. He throws the fastball with downhill plane to both sides of the plate for strikes sitting 77-83 mph. His arm action is clean and the ball can show some jump from the hand. The Virginia commit’s off-speed is still developing and an inconsistent release can cause it to just spin with little movement but when it’s on it generates some tumbling depth.




Another team that moved to 4-1 in the tournament was the LI Body Armor Titans 15u. It was a tough game filled with some weather delays but righthanded pitcher Hector Alejandro (2020 Waterbury, Conn.)  battled through going 4 1/3 innings for his team. He allowed two hits and three runs in the first inning before the first delay and upon returning he was lights out. Alejandro has a big build standing at 6-foot-1, 210-pounds. He uses his frame to generate some drive down the mound and getting his fastball up to 90 mph consistently. The ball comes out of his hand easy and really gets on hitters quickly. His secondary offering was also a great pitch in a short 10-to-4 slider with sharp and late bite. He generates a lot of swing-and-miss in his game, striking out seven batters.

Another Titan that played a part in their win was catcher Adelson Molina (2020 Bellmore, N.Y.). Molina is an athletic backstop at 5-foot-6, 155-pounds. He moves well behind the plate and receives well for his age with some projection to improve sticking balls on the corner as he gets stronger in the arms. Molina can also handle the bat as he drove a ball deep into the left field corner that banged off the fence. He has some good pop that you wouldn’t expect to come out of his frame. 



18u BCS National Championship (Days 3-5)

After the re-seeding the second round of pool has begun at the 18u BCS National Championship and Diamond Prospects started off well with a big win against Chandler World, 8-3. Roger Hernandez, a 2018 graduate from Miami, Fla., helped lead the way for the Diamond Prospects going 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI. Hernandez shows quick hands through extension with a strong swing. He was able to muscle a ball into leftfield that was low and away for an RBI single.

Bryan Pazos was another big bat in the Diamond Prospects lineup. Pazos, a 6-foot, 185-pound 2019 graduate, also from Miami, Fla., had four hits in four at-bats driving in two runs and scoring one himself. The Florida International commit has a solid hit tool with sound and repeatable mechanics at the plate. He shows a high contact rate with solid strength in swing and the ability to drive the ball to the gaps.

It was a tough loss for Academy Baseball Canada as they were downed by Top Tier Hoffman by a walk-off base hit. Edouard Savoie was a solid bat for Academy Baseball as he went 2-for-3 with a couple of RBI in the game. The 2018 graduate standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 185-pounds, drove in the then go-ahead run on a sac fly in the top of the seventh. Savoie is a Northeastern Oakland A&M College commit who shows a consistent ability to drove the ball. When on time he is able to generate a lot of leverage out front and really gets jump off the barrel.

On the other side of the field was 2018 graduate Andrew Wilhite. Wilhite, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound Minnesota commit, only had one hit in the game but it was a big one. He drove a ball deep over the right fielder’s head that drove in two runs to bring Top Tier Hoffman within one run in the bottom of the seventh. He would then score the tying run later that inning. Wilhite is a top player in the class and his bat isn’t the only reason. He has a strong arm with clean actions at both shortstop and when moved over the third base.

After trailing through the first few innings SWFL Canes were able to score three innings and hold off Panther Baseball for a 4-3 victory. The first five hitters for the Canes all have a solid ability at the plate and in this game Noah Rivera came through. Rivera is 2018 graduate who is committed to play at Florida Southwestern State College, stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 255-pounds. His strong frame projects well at the plate with big power potential. Rivera drove in a couple runs off a hard fly ball to straightaway left field that was a no-doubter. Rivera caught the ball off the end of the bat and was still able to sail it over the fence.




CF Arsenal faced off against Nelson Baseball School in the quarterfinals and it was a pitcher’s duel until the very end. It was a game that took extra innings to decide and it didn’t end quite as CF Arsenal would have hoped as they were on the wrong side of a 1-0 game. That doesn’t take away from the outing that righty Noah Santiago (2018 Saint Cloud, Fla.) had. Santiago, a 5-foot-10 and 170-pounder, threw 7 2/3 innings and allowed just three hits. He doesn’t have stuff that will blow hitters away but he is able to work the corners with the fastball and pitch to weak contact. He also flashed a good secondary pitch in the curveball with an 11-to-5 shape with good late depth to it.

Roman Keister (2030, Dade City, FL) Could not miss the barrel this weekend tallying 6 hits including 2 triples and 4 RBI. Starts the load early and controls his body well, the up the middle approach really plays in game. Also worked from off the mound for an inning and picked up a punch out.  Colton Russo (2030, Coral Springs, FL) Showed off the power burning outfielders all weekend. 5 hits including two triples that carried over the CF and RF heads. Has a good understanding about using the lower half in the swing and the bat to ball skills really impressed.  Karson Blakney (2030, St. Augustine, FL) Made his impact in a big way this week, collecting the win in the quarterfinals. In his outing he went 5 shutout innings and struck out 5 while only allowing 2 hits. Worked in the mid 70s with the FB and topped out at 78. Also produced on offense driving in 5 RBI on 4 hits. ...

Another week of JUCO baseball and another week full of wins for No. 1 ranked Johnson County . The Cavaliers have won 18 games in a row and have swept through the Jayhawk Conference to this point, setting a new school home run record along the way. Walters State returns to the top 5 this week on the strength of a 12-game winning streak. Both McLennan and Pearl River are coming off of undefeated weeks and look like strong top 10 caliber teams, while Midland (now 30-3) continues to climb in the rankings for the third consecutive week. For the first time all year this ranking will feature 4 California schools as Palomar joins Ohlone, Fresno City and Santa Ana in the JUCO rankings. Another pair of weeks has gone by this high school season and with that we have another High School Top-50 Update. Southern states are within a few weeks of the end of the season while some northern states are just getting started this week. Through the end of the spring, we will be bringing you updates to the Top-50 along with state rankings updates coming soon. For the first time in 2026, we have a new #1 in the country as Orange Lutheran (CA) takes over the top spot after winning the NHSI. Venice (FL) came in second place at the NHSI after a thrilling game against Orange Lutheran and comes in at #2. Previous #1 team in the country St. John Bosco (CA) rounds out the top-3 and will have a big showdown against Orange Lutheran starting tonight. Midseason Awards  Perfect Game Midseason Player of the Year:  Landon Hairston, OF, Arizona State  The season sophomore outfielder Landon Hairston is putting together is generational, even amongst the Hall of Fame talent Arizona State has fielded over the years.  Hairston, the 5-11/195 sophomore outfielder from Queen City, AZ has his club on track for another postseason appearance and they will make plenty of noise in the Big 12 regular season.  To put things in perspective on Hairston’s season, he is currently 5th in the nation in batting average, 3rd in hits, 8th in hits per game, tied for 2nd in home runs, tied for 5th in runs scored and is 4th in runs batted in so far.  He holds a batting average of .469 while slugging 1.027 and reaching base over half the time with an OBP of .551.  Hairston walks more than he strikes out and has 12 doubles, 17...

March 31st Perfect Game/Co-Players of the Week:  Landon Hairston, OF, Arizona State  The Arizona State Sun Devils (20-8) went (3-2) last week and now sit at No. 18 in our latest Top 25 poll.  They are proving that they are legitimate Big 12 contenders and Landon Hairston is making a strong case for National Player of the Year at the halfway point in the season.  The 5-11/195 sophomore outfielder from Queen City, AZ is putting up such loud numbers that they are almost hard to fathom.  In five games last week, the lefthanded hitter collected 12-hits in 19 Abs, scoring 13 runs on 6 walks, a double, 5 home runs and he drove in 11 runs on his own.  For the season, he has put together a slash line of .468/.991/.553 with 12 doubles, 15 round trippers, 45 RBIs, a 12:18 strikeout-to-walk ratio and he has swiped 8 bags so far.  It has been a special year for the...

Well college baseball fans, we are officially at the half-way point of the 2026 season and what an incredible ride it has already been.  While there is some separation at the top as we start to look at programs that could be potential NCAA tournament hosts, things continue to change as clubs revitalize their seasons by winning massive series in league play.  The Top 25 seems to be getting more volatile as we reach the midway point, and the second half is setting up to be something special.  The one thing that will remain the same as it has for a month now, is that the UCLA (25-2) will still be the No. 1 team in the nation.  The Bruins are winners of 19-consecutive games and have started off Big Ten league play by sweeping 4-straight series.  The Texas Longhorns (23-4) hold tight at No. 2 this week after sweeping previous No. 11 Oklahoma (19-8) and sit atop the...
