2021 Southern California Prospect Showcase
David Whittle is a 2022 C with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Moreno Valley, CA who attends Valley View. Slender athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Very good runner for a catcher, 6.65 in the sixty. Has quick actions behind the plate and comes out of his crouch very well, quick release on his throws, shows big arm strength on his throws, makes very accurate throws, chance to have high level defensive tools as he develops. Plenty athletic enough to play all over the field if he choose. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance, gets into his lower half well and torques his hips hard, has present bat speed with more to come, creates barrel whip and some lift out front, projects well as a hitter with additional strength. Good student, verbal commitment to San Diego State. Named to the Southern California Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
