Aiden McCarthy is a 2026 1B/LHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from South Plainfield, NJ who attends South Plainfield. McCarthy started his event as a primary 1B, displaying aggressive footwork with a deep arm action producing young carry across the diamond up to 79 mph. He was quick and consistent in the mechanics and made plays asked of him overall with accurate throws on the bag. On the mound, worked exclusively from the stretch successfully remaining balanced over the rubber releasing from a high 3/4 slot. Flashed a quick leg lift and projects well. Has room to replicate arm speed on CH. Developing spin profile in the arsenal. Offensively, the lefty started from a slightly closed stance utilizing a wrapped barrel pre load and a hanging leg lift trigger. Generated his best impact to the pull side of the field with further room to shift the weight and create drive from the lower half. Posted an exit velo of 74 mph. Ran a 5.26 forty yard dash. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
