Jackson Heinlen is a 2027 RHP/MIF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Manhattan, IL, who attends Lincoln Way West. A medium frame with a lean & thin frame. Higher-set waist. Ran an 8.16 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher with a bigger leg lift up out and around when working from the wind-up. He has a longer arm action through release with some whip and acceleration to the arm path. He showed a good feel to pitch in his outing on the mound. Shortens his mechanics up from the stretch. Had a shorter leg lift and would go to the slide-step as needed. The fastball was up to 80 mph and had some arm-side life to it, riding through the zone. Showed a good feel for a low-70s changeup, pronating, and letting the pitch dive arm-side. Also showed an 11-5 shaped curveball in the mix. He settled into his outing well. A right-handed hitter who has a wider and open stance. Lower set hands and a lower back elbow. He uses a simple stride, working through contact with a shorter swing overall. He worked back up the middle during his round of BP swings. Rotational swing through the zone. Also worked out as an infielder with a more lean frame. He had a clue for the movements and showed a feel for the footwork. Had some whip the arm across the diamond, throwing 81 mph. Lateral range is there, and the transfers were clean as he worked into the throws. Great student.
