2022 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Daniel Becker is a 2025 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Pembroke, MA who attends Bishop Stang. A medium build with a taller frame. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who worked out of the stretch only. He had a leg lift getting the knee up above the belt. He worked into the lower half as he moved down the mound. Got some extension out front as he worked down the mound. His fastball was in the low-70s but got up to 78 mph. The pitch had some arm-side run and was thrown for strikes. Paired that with a breaking ball in the low-70s with 11/5 action. Also had a changeup at 72 mph that was solid with some good tumbling action to it. Struck out 1 over 2 2/3 innings of work, keeping the opposition quiet, allowing just 1 hit. A right-handed hitter with an even base in the batter's box. USed a leg-lift trigger to get on time. Was able to get the barrel through the zone with some intent. Picked up a double during games portion of the event. Produced an 81 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Worked out as an outfielder with a longer arm action as he worked through the throws. He fields off to the left side with the glove going down to to get the ball. Threw 77 mph during his round of reps at the position. Good student.
