Sam Soderstrom is a 2025 C/RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Wichita, KS who attends Maize. Sam is a very intriguing player being that he excels on both sides of pitching and catching. Soderstrom has a strong arm from the mound and can move his arm slot to an alternate position. Better suited to stick with conventional 3/4 slot for arm strength. Throws strikes and mixed in a sweeping breaking ball from both arm slots. Sam showed poise and comfortability behind the plate. Quiet setup, soft glove and nice receiving skills. Threw a couple players out at 2nd trying to steal with good transfer and footwork while delivering throws on a line. Soderstrom showed good bat and barrel control. Ability to hit hard line drives to pull side. Tries to create some lift at times slowing bat speed down. Lots of good measurables here to be excited about. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.57 seconds. Sam was Named to the Top Players List. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
