Ezekiel Maurice is a 2027 LHP/1B with a 6-8 201 lb. frame from Weiser, ID who attends Treasure Valley Classical Academy. Extra tall, lean build with long levers and tons of physical projection remaining. 7.44 runner in the sixty. Primary left-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery from the middle of the rubber. Lifts his leg up to the chest before separating into an inline arm path. Accelerates into a low 3/4 arm slot. Fastball showed lots of arm-side run, topping out at 82 mph. Mixed in a slurvy breaking ball with late actions as well as a fading changeup. Secondary first baseman, moved around the bag well with some feel for the footwork at the position. Looks to funnel the baseball out front. Demonstrated quick footwork and good accuracy on his turns to second base. Left-handed batter, starts in a narrow, open stance with an even hand set-up. Utilizes a simple knee lift trigger for timing before working into a slightly uphill bat path. Displayed developing bat-to-ball skills with some feel for working the pull-side. Has good strength in the hands with plenty of power to project for as he continues to add strength. Posted an exit velocity of 92 mph. Excellent student. Named to the PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO Top Prospect List.
