Trent O'Malley is a 2028 RHP/1B with a 6-0 211 lb. frame from Great Falls, VA who attends Gonzaga College. Large, physical frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, clean arm stroke through the back working to a three-quarters release. Fastball up to 83 mph in this look and has topped 86 mph in prior looks this summer; generates running life to the arm side with tight spin to the pitch. Feel for the breaking ball developed throughout, up to 70 mph and able to land it for strikes, sweeping finish and can miss bats. Fields the ball out front in the outfield, works on top of the ball well and generates big carry and accuracy on throws, repeats actions and moves well on feet. Big arm across the diamond from first base, clean glove actions and ball comes out of the hand cleanly. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and open stance with a high back elbow in the box. Incorporates physical strength well into swing, loads hands back at start of swing, gets extended out front and generates loft to the pull side. Comfort working to the pull side gap, impact strength when on time with mechanics. Named to the 2024 13u Select Festival.
