Tyler Townsend is a 2026 OF/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Sycamore, IL who attends Sycamore. Works from a large athletic frame with physical upside. Primary outfielder, works through the baseball with proper technique, releases it from a low three-quarters slot. Kept the throws low and online, recorded arm strength up to 89 mph from the outfield. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch, utilizes drop/drive mechanics and stays compact throughout delivery. Has some arm speed and works into a high three-quarters slot. Fastball showed some arm side run, commanded it well around the zone and topped it out at 88 mph. Mixed in a sweeping curve with big depth and spin efficiency, has the potential to be a plus pitch. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow slightly open base with a low hand set-up. Utilized a small stride prior to launch and works into a leveraged stroke. Gets a bit rotational at times. Has plenty of bat speed with more power to project for, recorded an exit velocity of 86 mph. Ran a 7.21 sixty-yard dash. Good student. Named to the 2023 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Top Prospect List.
