Lyric Gray is a 2029 OF/LHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Bay, AR who attends Jonesboro. Lean athletic young build. 6.79 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has easy athletic action and a quick first step, is aggressive moving to the ball, good glove work fielding the ball, carries his momentum into his throws well and makes low accurate throws, has the fundamentals and athleticism/speed to be a high level defensive outfielder with development. Left handed hitter, sets up in an open stance with a short hanging leg lift trigger, gets to his front side early and tries to get the barrel out front, would benefit from staying back a bit, upper body rotational swing. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a slow paced delivery and good balance and direction to the plate, high 3/4's arm slot, gets coiled over the rubber well. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with the ability to locate well to the arm side. Curveball was an out pitch with power and feel, got on top of it well with 1/7 sharpness. Has a chance to develop on the mound with additional strength and maturity. Very good student. Named to the PG High School All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
