Randall Shephard Jr is a 2028 MIF/RHP/C with a 5-10 130 lb. frame from Lonoke, AR who attends Lonoke. Features a medium sized wiry build with plenty of room and time to add. Ran a 7.82 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed developing actions. Not much innate footspeed/quickness on the dirt. Got to his spots on-time showing quality lateral range. Sweeps glove through the backhand. Intent to get the ball out as quick as possible. Shorter arm action that got off mostly accurate throws across at avg. strength/carry for his level. Behind the plate, operates from a taller set up and cheats a bit with non-glove hand. Inconsistent receiving skills but showed quickness to the exchange/transfers at times. Inconsistent with throws, some taking multiple hops to 2nd and other right on the bag but mostly accurate. At the plate, sits in a wider stance with hands relaxed over homeplate. Slight sway into backside before getting into a toe tap trigger. Pushy/handsy swing that lacks above avg. strength and bat speed right now. A lot of his post impact results were GBs right into the ground. On the mound, he side steps into a hip high knee lift and gets right down the mound working low effort tall/fall. Smaller stride down the mound and uses a shorter arm action that gets up to a normal 3/4 slot. Ran the FB into the low 70s that allowed opposing lineup to put balls in play and get outs which he did. Mixed in a sparingly used upper 50s breaker that got a few whiffs.
