2024 Sunshine Southwest Showcase
Adolfo Pacheco is a 2025 C/ with a 5-9 188 lb. frame from Laveen, AZ who attends Cesar Chavez. Medium, physical build with very good present strength proportioned throughout. 7.58 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has a one knee down set up and comes out of it well, outstanding arm strength with on-line carry, makes accurate throws, has the tools and athleticism to continue to develop, 84 mph with top throw. Also pitched, drop and drive delivery through lower half and works with intent down the mound; higher effort and gets to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, worked under control and attacks hitters. Worked comfortably at the top of the zone with heater, able to mix a slider up to 80 mph with tilting action through the zone and late break; can miss bats with the offering. Switch-hitter, begins with a slightly open stance from the right side with high hand set; longer path through the zone but able to use all fields and shows impact to the pull side. Similar set up from the left side, more pull oriented in approach, shows rhythm in the box with present bat speed and strength, more lift in path. Nice tools all over the field. Very good student. Named to hte Sunshine Southwest Top Prospect List.
