2025 PG Michigan Indoor Showcase
Jacob Metzger is a 2027 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Holt, MI who attends Holt. A bigger frame and lean build with good present strength. Room to keep adding to the build moving forward. Projectable build. Ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher with a leg lift to the chest, landing slightly open and working down the slope. He has a clean arm action with a medium arm circle working through a high three-quarters slot. Showed some arm speed during his outing. The fastball worked 85-86 T88 mph, spinning above 2,200 RPMs and playing well up in the zone. The heater showed good life, and he consistently located it during his outing. He also showed a sharper breaking ball in the mid-70s with healthy shape and spin up above 2,500 RPMs. Also flashed a changeup at 81 mph with spin down into the 1,600s. He had a really good feel for a 3-pitch mix showing during his outing. Took BP as a right-handed hitter with a wider and spread base with high hands and the back elbow up. He was open in his setup with a leg lift trigger working into it, showing a hands-driven swing. He took the hands to it directly with a compact and shorter stroke, being able to generate a good barrel whip. There was bat speed and barrel whip, allowing him to do damage out in front. He did some damage throughout his round of BP swings. Also worked out in the outfield, fielding it out in front with a longer arm action and good arm speed working through release. He had a clean and fluid arm action with some whip to it. Uphill out of the hand with throws carrying well. Throws at 93 mph with a feel to work through it. Good arm speed and strength through release, carrying the throws well. Good student. Named to 2025 Michigan Indoor Showcase TP List.
