Tim Berry is a 2009 LHP/OF with a 6'1'', 150 lb. frame from San Marcos, CA, who attends San Marcos HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Berry is a young player with a wiry and athletic frame that is very projectable. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with nice mechanics. Berry stays balanced through his delivery. He has very good arm action and a quick arm that gives him projectable velocity gains. Berry gets good arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 84 mph. He gets nice tilt and rotation on his 70 mph curveball that he throws for strikes. Berry also mixes in a 73 mph change with fading action. He works fast and throws strikes which keeps his defense in the game. Defensively he showed arm strength and good actions in the outfield. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with an aggressive approach. He attacks pitches in the zone and he has bat speed. Berry is a good two-way prospect that we will enjoy following. He is a good student as well.
