2025 PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO
Evan Swope is a 2028 SS/RHP/C with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Wesley Chapel, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit. Medium athletic build with good present strength for his age. Ran a 7.48 60-yd dash. Showed fundamental actions in the INF. Small prep hop to start as feet work light taking good angles with feel for timing through the baseball. Sure hands with a clean funnel to the belt. Compact arm stroke flashing above avg. strength across with carry. At the plate, operated from an even base and used a smaller stride into launch. Simple stroke showing intent to lift it in the air to the pull side. Quality feel for the barrel flashing above avg. bat speed and impact. Power showed during gameplay as well. On the mound, side steps into a lower chest lift and gets into some early push off the rubber. Lands on-line with average length to the stride. Uses a medium in-line arm path to a higher 3/4 slot with avg. armspeed to release. Balanced mover and repeats well. FB worked up to 81, showing natural sinking action. Mixed in an upper 60s breaker and low 70s changeup that are developing secondaries. Quality strikes throughout his outing, not producing much whiff but got off barrels. Named to the PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO Top Prospect List.
