Ivan Ortega is a 2024 OF/MIF, UT with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Hilltop. Smaller athletic frame. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. An outfielder with fundamental footwork, a quick first step and momentum to and working through the baseball, clean glove actions fielding off to the side with a side shuffle gather and average arm strength with one hop accuracy to bases. Right handed hitter, hit from a slightly open stance with load stride timing. Up to middle line drive approach with developing bat speed. Some connectivity in the swing with a level path and feel for the barrel. Showed the ability to hit line drives to all fields in the BP round. Developable traits as he develops more strength. Outstanding student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
