Calvin Baker is a 2029 RHP/OF with a 6-3 160 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends O'Dea. Long and lanky young pitcher's build with lots of physical projection remaining. Works from a side step delivery with a mid chest high leg raise, medium length arm action with a mid 3/4's arm slot, can get more out of his lower half coming down the mound with a short stride out front. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph, gets good running life and missed barrels effectively. Slider was a good pitch with a slurve type shape and some sharpness that made hitters uncomfortable. 5.00 runner in the forty. Secondary outfielder on defense, works through the ball well and carries his momentum into his throws well, showed his arm strength well. Right handed hitter, sets up in a medium base with a simple shift into contact, has some hand quickness and barrel accuracy, solid line drive contact with gap to gap contact, has some projection as a hitter. Very good student. Named to the PG Northwest Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
