Peter Kooiker is a 2026 RHP/1B with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Jenison, MI who attends Jenison. Big and physical build with plenty of strength potential. Works exclusively from the stretch from the first base side of the rubber, higher leg raise with some lower half coil over the rubber, deeper off line arm path in back to a high 3/4's arm slot, gets into his strong lower half well coming down the mound and rotates aggressively, tends to run away from his arm at times on release. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with some riding life that caused swing/miss up in the zone. Showed better control of his breaking balls than his fastball, curveball had some 12/6 shape and depth, slider had tight spin and a short and sharp break. Secondary first baseman on defense. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread and slightly closed stance with a busy hand load that can impact his time, swings hard and can impact the ball when everything comes together. Good student.
