Zachary Muir is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Cortland, NY who attends Cortland. Long and lean athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. Primary shortstop with some two-way potential on the mound. 7.01 runner in the sixty. Attacks the ball well in the infield with smooth and confident actions, throws well from lower slots, has some carry when he gets on top of the ball. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a short leg raise trigger, has some present bat speed and an accurate barrel, ball comes off the barrel hard, projects well as a hitter as he continues to get stronger. Works from a full wind up on the mound with a loose and easy 3/4's arm action. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with low spin rate characteristics, heavy running 2 seam life. Threw a sweeping frisbee slider with 2700+ rpm spin, also showed good feel for his change up and threw strikes with all his pitches. Very good student.
