2005 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Walls is a 6-5, 185 lb right handed pitcher from Alabama with loose projectable actions. He throws from a rotational delivery with a full back turn and a long, easy arm circle. Walls seems to put little effort into his delivery and everything is smooth and balanced. His fastball was 83-86 mph with some life on it. Walls' breaking ball was a very sharp 71 mph curveball that he didn't throw often but should because it's a nice pitch. Walls also threw a couple of 72 mph change ups. We got the overall impression that Walls wasn't a very experienced pitcher but that things came very easily to him. He has a very interesting projectable arm and body and could be a high ceiling talent who throws very hard in the future. Follow Closely! Walls also had a nice showcase with the bat, with 4 hits in the 3 showcase games, including a couple that he drove hard. He's a good overall athlete, which will help in his pitching projection.
