2025 PG North Indoor Showcase
Ben Horn is a 2027 RHP/C/1B with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Muskego, WI who attends Muskego. Bigger frame and build with some room to keep adding in strength and physicality. Ran an 8.07 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who works from the wind-up with a knee-to-waist leg lift, using drop-and-drive mechanics as he pushes downhill. He had some coil to the leg lift. He had a medium arm action working through the back, hiding it well with feel as he comes through it. Pitched from a three-quarters arm slot. The fastball worked 83-85 T86 mph with some ride and carry to it. It gets good plane and spins above 2,300 RPMs, with a feel to command the zone. He also showed an 11-5 shaped curveball in the mix, around 70 mph, with spin up above 2,700 RPMs. He had a really good feel to spin and got it done in a quality outing on the mound. He took BP as a right-handed hitter with a narrow base, open feet, and high hands, with the back elbow up. He had a good leg lift trigger with some stretch, turning hard and impacting a well-working pull-side. He drove the ball well, working pull-side and back up the middle throughout his round of BP swings. He was able to get extended through it and drive it well, staying shorter to contact with some whip and hand speed through it. There was good barrel control and feel to show strength off the barrel. He had projectable actions in the box. He worked out behind the plate as a catcher with one-hop accuracy around the bag showing during his round. He had a side saddle setup, jumping out of the crouch with a shorter thru-the-back arm action and some length at release, throwing 75 mph down to second with a 2.10 pop time. He receives it deep and gains some ground. Good arm strength with accurate throws throughout the round. Good student. Named to 2025 North Indoor Showcase TP List.
