Hayden Manning is a 2014 OF/LHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Portland, CT who attends Portland. Tall, lean athlete that shows good projection. Ran a 6.98 60 yard dash. Flashes arm strength from the outfield and throws from and easy. Makes accurate throws and is consistent with his mechanics. Bats right-handed, works from a slightly open setup and carries his hands high. DIsplays a sound approach at the plate and has a good hitter's rhythm. Hits hard line drives to the middle of the field, showing good bat speed. Also took the mound, tops at 76 mph with his fastball and mixes an 11-5 curveball at 69 mph. Also has a feel for a 71 mph changeup with some fading action. Curveball shows good depth and he knows how to mix his off speed offerings effectively. Good student.
