Derek Long is a 2012 C/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Alpharetta HS. Medium athletic build, present strength. Good lower half flexibility behind the plate, solid arm strength, good game actions, receives the ball well, clean exchange, good overall catching tools/skills. Right handed hitter, open tall stance, short line drive swing, weight stays on his back side, needs to attack ball more aggressively and use his strength, mid field contact. Excellent student.
