Austin Verplank is a 2011 RHP with a 6-6 190 lb. frame from Flower Mound, TX who attends Flower Mound Marcus. Extra tall lean build, projects well. Balanced leg raise delivery, lands a bit open and spins off on landing, high 3/4's release point, good downhill plane, arm works well, good arm speed. Fastball to 88 mph, more velo in there, occasional arm side run, soft curveball shows good 12/6 downer shape occasionally, developing change up. Lots of potential to improve with more strength, consistency in delivery. Strong student, can definitely pitch at the next level, no present college commitment.
