Rey Perez is a 2012 SS with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Montverde Academy. Smaller lean build, live bodied athletic actions. 6.47 runner, very quick first step. Moves well defensively, quick first step, long loose arm with very good carry, accurate, good glove with balanced footwork, has all the defensive tools. Switch-hitter, better bat speed right handed, short to ball but upper cut swing plane, softer and slower smooth swing left handed, still looking for identity from both sides of the plate. Athletic and defensive tools stand out, future will be determined by ability to improve with the bat.
