James Kelly is a 2015 3B/2B, RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Oceanport, NJ who attends Shore Reg. Large, athletic frame with lean build and room to fill out with added strength. Projects well, ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, shows fluid footwork with a strong arm on throws across, works through the ball well and shows athleticism to make the off balance play when charging in. Showed well on the mound, short arm action with a three-quarter release. Fastball up to 86 mph with ability to create sink and run on the pitch. Fast arm with deception in delivery. Feel for 70 mph curveball, shortens arm on curveball release. Left-handed batter, starts from a spread stance and stays balanced throughout swing, patient approach. Line drive swing plane, quick hands, and consistently gets the barrel to the ball. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List, good student.
