a 6'2" 184 lb. frame. Wilson has some good present day ability and projectability that had him ranked #45 among PG National Top 85 pitchers. He has a quick, loose arm, though with a little effort in his arm stroke. His stroke creates some leverage at release point and he did a nice job with his lower half of allowing his hand to get out to good extension, providing more life on his pitches. His mechanics are a bit complicated, with a drop of his head that would seem to make him lose sight of the plate, but he has good direction down the slope and commanded his hand well. Wilson showed the ability to pitch to both sides of the plate with his 85-90 mph fastball and he was particularly good to the opposite arm side. He got some riding action on the heater, though it was mostly straight. Impressive was his ability to get out with the fastball and the aggressive nature with which he threw it, signifying that he has confidence in old number one. Wilson showed nice command of his 76 mph curveball. With that type of velocity on the breaker, he has a chance to develop an above average curveball to go with an average fastball. Wilson showed pretty well with the bat in BP, a good indication of his athleticism; he ran 7.62 in the 60. Looks to be a college arm, with a chance to go out after a college career. If that breaking ball gets a bit better, he could have a chance to go out after high school.
