Christian James is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Tarpon Springs, FL who attends East Lake HS. Extra large frame with nice, strong pitcher's build. Balanced, well-paced delivery with hip coil, can work slightly cross body, gets to a deceptive 3/4's arm slot. Fastball up to 91 mph with good angle and plane, able to locate offering down in the strike zone. Nice, deceptive slider with good tilt, sharp break, looks like a fastball out of the hand. Also flashes feel for fading changeup in the low-80s. Displayed ability to throw strikes, induce weak contact and swings and misses with all three pitches. Right handed hitter, wide base setup with large, aggressive load and leg lift. Can drift a bit, shows bat speed and impressive raw strength with big carry off of the barrel. Named to National Showcase Top Prospect Team.
