Paul Castillo is a 2016 SS/3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Miami Coral Park HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with present strength. Strong runner, posted a 6.80 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and gets behind the ball, quick actions with smooth transfer to short and quick arm action, soft hands play well, extra movement in transfer, stays loose and balanced charging in, strong arm with good carry. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a lower hand set in the box. Shows quickness to both hands and barrel, upper body swing and looks to lift at contact. Occasionally opens front side early, projects with continued use of lower half, stays inside the ball with a feel for the barrel. Very good student. Committed to Hillsborough CC.
