Bobby Shore is a 2007 RHP/3B with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Oceanside CA, who attends Oceanside HS. Shore has an athletic, lean, flexible body. He is not a big right-hander, nor projectable in a traditional sense, but he does have a good body for a pitcher. He was on the verge of the top prospect list, and would have been there had he been able to sustain his mid-upper 80s stuff for the entire outing. In time he will get there. Shore pitches from a high 3/4 slot and has a short backside arm action that can make picking up the ball difficult for hitters. His arm works with easy effort and he showed some good arm speed. Shore is a ground ball machine. His fastball, which topped at 88 and sat 83-87, has good sink and gets on hitters quickly. Late, rollover swings were the norm against him. His curveball has tight spin and he also showed feel of a very quality change-up, showing the ability to keep both of them down in the zone. Shore is a good athlete and swung the bat well too, showing a line drive stroke and the ability to hit the ball to all fields, with some gap power. His future though, is on the mound. He works quickly, throws strikes, has a quality, usable fastball, feel of his secondary pitches, and competes. Shore is the type of young pitcher that can get a lot of innings early in his college career in a relief role and would expand that role in the years to follow. He is a solid student as well.
