Will Dawson is a 2015 1B/OF/LHP with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cy-Fair HS. Extra large and strong build. Primary first baseman but graded out higher as a left handed pitcher at this event. Big leg lift delivery, stays balanced well coming to the plate, some drop and drive to the plate, 3/4's arm slot, finishes balanced and directional at release, very fluid overall delivery mechanics that he repeats well. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, commanded his fastball well. Curveball showed flashes of tight spin with some 1/7 depth at times. Left handed hitter, rotational line drive swing from a high hand set, tends to cut swing off out front and get the barrel out of the hitting zone prematurely, has lots of strength at contact. Showed his arm strength at first base. Runs very well for his size. Good student. Overall PG Grade reflects primary pitching evaluation.
