JOHN LAROCCA is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-2 155 lb. frame from PLAINVIEW, NY who attends St. Dominic HS. Long lean frame with plenty of room to fill out. A perfect pitchers build. Two-way guy. On the mound he has a high leg raise delivery with a hip turn at the top. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. FB touched 80 mph with more to come. He has an 11-5 CB with good downward plane. Does a nice job of maintaining arm speed on the CH as well. Threw all three pitches for strikes. In the OF he showed smooth actions, good awareness and a strong arm. He is a switch hitter with a wide balanced set up. Shows bat speed from both sides but looks a little more natural from the left side. Made hard pull side contact. Solid all around player. Good student.
