Benjamin Contento is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-3 208 lb. frame from Schenectady, NY who attends Colonie Central. Tall, strong build, has a strong lower half. Pitches from a high three-quarter arm slot, and steps open slightly in his delivery. Touches 83 mph with his fastball and spots it well. Flashes an 11-5 curveball, but needs more consistency with it. Also mixes a changeup at 66 mph. Knows how to mix three pitches and has a clean delivery. Also swung the bat, hits well to the opposite field and flashes power. Hits from an upright, open stance and lifts the ball well. Very good student.
