Jake Hakey is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Fairfax, VT who attends Bfa High School - Fairfax. Lean build with present athleticism and room to fill out. Primary pitcher with a high leg lift and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Deceptive delivery and hides the ball well. Not afraid to challenge hitters and stayed around the strike zone with his pitches. Sound overall command of the strike zone. Good utilization of lower half to drive forward towards the batter. Two pitch mix with a live fastball that has some late arm side run to it. The pitch sat from 78-83 mph and it worked well on the inner half of the plate. Mixed in a tight curveball with 10/5 shape and late depth. The pitch was thrown for strikes and he did a good job at mixing both pitches to keep hitters off balanced. Excellent student.
