Grant Golomb is a 2020 RHP/C/UT with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from Southlake, TX who attends Southlake Carroll HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders, long limbs and a high waist, lots of physical projection moving forwards. Primary righthanded pitcher, short side step moving into delivery, higher leg lift with a full and quick arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Low effort at release and fastball topped out at 87 mph, occasionally mistimed at release but able to generate plane when on top of the ball. Curveball shows best with 11-5 shape, nice spin to the pitch up to 73 mph. Similar full arm action through the back in the outfield, nice arm strength and carry with looseness at release, works over front side and can continue to incorporate additional lower half at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread stance and weight on the backside; loads hands back at start with lower back elbow. Stays short and quick with swing, shows a linear path through the zone and hits the ball out front. Swings with intent and works to all parts of the field. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Baylor.
