Cole Dunham is a 2016 OF/RHP/2B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Lee's Summit, MO who attends West HS. Young, projectable build with plenty of room for added weight and build. Hits from a slightly crouched over stance with a high back elbow, square to the plate. Spreads out a bit in the box, uses a shorter leg lift trigger to load and then fires through the zone with loose hands, creating solid bat speed. Aggressive approach but has good understanding of the strike zone and does not chase bad pitches. Quality bat speed and extension speak to projection for both batting average and power. In the field, showed solid skills both in infield and outfield. Strong arm from outfield with quick release and accuracy, gathers athletically and fields well. Same strong arm shown in the infield, with athletic actions and good hand work that allows clean fielding and on target throws with no wasted movement. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound with a rotational delivery. Works very quickly on the mound, pounding the strike zone with a running high 70's FB that topped out at 79; as well as a horizontal slider that works to give hitters a different look. Named to National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect list. Good student.
