Alan Alonso is a 2016 OF/1B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Archbishop Carroll. Medium-large frame with good present build and strength throughout. Hits from a slightly wrapped start, small stride into contact, smooth is swing with solid bat speed and repeatable overall mechanics. Extends well through contact, heavy to pull field. Shows good fielding actions in OF, fields out in front, deliberate but clean and easy fielding and throwing mechanics, topped at 82 from OF. Showed good footwork with arm accuracy at 1B. Pitches with long arm action with some wrap up to high 3/4 slot, FB has natural heaviness topping at 77 MPH. Showed good feel for 11/5 CB, threw strikes consistently with both offerings. Good student.
