Joe Miller is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Hatboro, PA who attends LaSalle. Medium, athletic frame with excellent present build and good projection remaining. Hits with leg lift trigger, swing is leveraged with some natural loft, shows good bat speed, made mostly hard line drive contact and shows very good balance throughout swing, will develop more power with more strength. Waits back well on balls in OF, shows quick feet and moves well to the ball and fields it cleanly, works through it some and shows very good arm strength, topping out at 86 MPH on accurate throws. Pitched as well, uses long arms to advantage on mound, shows smooth and repeatable delivery, online with delivery, stays tall on backside and uses lower half well. Throws from extended 3/4 slot, shows good command of both pitches and works down in the zone with FB, working in the 83-84 MPH range and topping at 85. CB shows sharp slurvy break with good bite, kept hitters off balance well overall. Named to 2015 Northeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
