Nicholas Barreiros is a 2020 C/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Seaford, NY who attends Seaford Senior High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a longer limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. ran a 5.30 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower crouched stance behind the plate with flexibility, sound exchange and quick transfer, shows a feel for mechanics, projects with additional lower half, taller at release, short arm action on throws to second base and shows accuracy. Similar short arm action from the outfield, fields the ball out front and works over front side at release, gets on top of throws well, effort at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, even stance in the box. Upper body dominant swing, employs a contact oriented approach with a fuller path through the zone. Stays linear to the point of contact, creates line drive contact and shows looseness to wrist and balance to swing. Tools on both sides project well moving forward.
