Justin Elizondo is a 2017 3B/IOF/RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Austin HS. Large frame, lean athletic build with long limbs, has plenty of room to fill out. Primary infielder, solid instincts with good hands, could charge the ball more consistently. Compact arm-action, ball comes out of hand well, up to 82 mph across the diamond. Right handed hitter, deep hand position start with slight bat waggle, whips barrel through the zone with good bat speed. Quick hands, can turn on the inside pitch when needed. When extended ball carries off of the barrel, shows gap power with good feel for swing, projects well at the plate. Also pitches, compact delivery with short leg lift, has good rhythm and tempo. Stays tall on backside and releases from tight 3/4 arm slot, has some downhill plane and armside run on fastball up to 80 mph. Good extension over frontside, shows ability to spin a tight curveball with 10/4 shape, solid command and ability to located down in the zone. Named to the National Underclass South Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
