Roman Phansalkar is a 2017 RHP/SS with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Edmond, OK who attends Heritage Hall HS. Medium athletic build, projects well physically, plenty of room to get stronger. Short stride out front in his delivery, quick and compact arm action to a high 3/4's release, some recoil on release from a hard front side, medium effort. Steady upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight with good plane to the plate. Shows good feel for his slider, gets sharp spin with good 2-plane break. Firm straight change can be further developed. Has adjustments to make but has a live arm and the ability to spin it and throw strikes. Very good student, verbal commitment to Arizona.
